Recruitment & Intake Timelines
RPI’s fraternity and sorority community is made up of three governing councils. Each council has its own recruitment or intake process and timeline.
Interfraternity Council (IFC)
(22 fraternities)
- Formal recruitment, held each spring semester
- Informal recruitment, which takes place in both the spring and fall
Students are encouraged to attend events and connect with chapters to learn more about their options.
Multicultural Sorority & Fraternity Council (MSFC)
(6 intercultural fraternities and sororities, affiliated with organizations such as NAPA, NALFO, and NPHC)
- Most chapters host informational sessions in both fall and spring
- Recruitment and intake timelines vary by organization
- The best way to learn about membership is to contact chapters directly and attend their events
Panhellenic Council (RPC)
(4 sororities; 3 NPC chapters and one associate)
- Primary (formal) recruitment is held once per year in late January
- RPI does not offer formal fall recruitment
- Informal recruitment (Continuous Open Bidding) may take place in the fall and spring, depending on chapter availability
Students interested in informal recruitment should follow the Panhellenic Council and individual sororities on social media for updates.
