Recruitment & Intake Timelines

RPI’s fraternity and sorority community includes two governing councils, along with a culturally based chapter and a co-ed professional chapter that operate independently of the councils. Each council and independent chapter follows its own recruitment or intake process and timeline.

Interfraternity Council (IFC)
(23 fraternities)

  • Formal recruitment, held each spring semester
  • Informal recruitment, which takes place in both the spring and fall

Students are encouraged to attend events and connect with chapters to learn more about their options.

Panhellenic Council (RPC)
(3 sororities)

  • Primary (formal) recruitment is held in January.
  • Potential new members must register to participate in Panhellenic recruitment.
  • Continuous Open Bidding (COB) is dependent on the chapter and may take place in the fall and spring semester.

Students interested in informal recruitment should follow the Panhellenic Council and individual sororities on social media for updates.

Students interested in joining these chapters are encouraged to follow them on social media, attend their events, and contact them directly for more information.
