Notice of Non-Discrimination, Equal Opportunity, and Title IX Compliance

12/17/25

Dear Students,

I am writing to share important information about RPI’s commitment to non-discrimination, equal opportunity, and Title IX compliance, and to ensure you are aware of your rights, resources, and reporting options.

Our Commitment
RPI is committed to maintaining a safe, healthy, and inclusive learning and living environment free from harassment, unlawful discrimination, and inappropriate conduct. Every student deserves to be treated with dignity and respect and to participate fully in campus life.

Discrimination is prohibited based on actual or perceived: race, color, religion, sex, gender, pregnancy or related condition, sexual orientation, transgender status, gender identity or expression, age, national origin, citizenship status, disability, military or veteran status, genetic information, domestic violence victim status, familial status, legal off-premises use of tobacco products, relationship with or association with member(s) of a protected class, or any other status protected by federal or New York State law.

Prohibited Conduct
Discrimination, discriminatory harassment, and sexual misconduct are not tolerated at RPI. Sexual misconduct includes, but is not limited to:

  • Sex-based harassment (including hostile environment or quid pro quo harassment)
  • Sexual assault or sexual violence
  • Sexual exploitation
  • Dating or domestic violence
  • Stalking

These behaviors interfere with a student’s ability to learn, live, and participate fully in RPI programs and activities.

RPI is also committed to providing equal employment and educational opportunities for all campus community members. Our commitment to non-discrimination and equal opportunity extends to all aspects of the employment and academic relationship including, but not limited to, the recruitment and admission of students, the recruitment and employment of leaders, faculty, and staff, and the operation of any programs and activities of RPI.

Reporting Concerns
Students who experience or witness discrimination, harassment, or sexual misconduct are encouraged to report it. Reports can be made with your name or anonymously. Seeking help or making a report will not result in any form of retaliation.
