RPI NAMI peer leaders are trained by the National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI) to support their peers focusing on mental health and coping. They also advocate and actively work to eliminate the stigma around mental illness. Each semester, NAMI peer leaders facilitate weekly meetings that are open to all students to discuss their experiences, struggles, and challenges.
